I have reviewed this recipe before and it is wonderful! I get rave reviews every time I make it. Tonight I lightened it up. I made my own pasta with the pasta roller and my kitchenaid mixer. I rolled the pasta very thin and instead of using 8 ounces, I used 5. Then, I used 3/4 pound of the sweet Italian turkey sausage and made the sauce per recipe....

Wonderful, but....this was a tiny bit too spicy for us. We'd use less of the red pepper. We used a homemade linguini and it was delish. Think I might add some sauted or roasted chicken next time. This dish was quick to make and is fantastic. I made the pesto first and didn't just love the taste by itself. I added a handful of walnuts but otherwise followed the recipe. Then I put together the bean mixture, dressed it with the pesto, and tasted. Absolutely delicious. I could eat this as a main course. I will make this often."
