Reviewed Almost-Famous Peppermint Bark

Dec 10, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Five star!!! Unbelievably creamy and delicious! The chocolate simply melts in your mouth and there is just the right amount of peppermint. This stuff is majorly addictive! I do have to say that you need to plan on spending at least $20 to make this recipe the right way. You have to buy good quality chocolate (I used Ghiradelli) to get good res"

Reviewed Peanut Butter Cookies with Blackberry Jam

May 21, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These cookies are huge, delicious, and lots of fun. I love the addition of the cocoa powder, which is a fun addition and a break from the normal peanut butter cookie. These would be great for a bake sale. I also liked that the recipe only makes 10 cookies. Sometimes you really only need 10 cookies."

Reviewed Scallion and Mozzarella Cornbread

May 21, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is THE BEST cornbread ever!! Seriously though, I made it for dinner one night and it got devoured. It's incredibly moist, tender, you get a little tang/brine from the olives, and it's really cheesy. We fought over the last piece. I've made it three times since. It is now my go-to cornbread recipe."

Reviewed Baked Potatoes with Sausage and Arugula Sauce

Absolutely fantastic! The sauce is so flavorful and creamy. A knock-out recipe that the whole family will love."

Reviewed Mini Chicken and Broccoli Pot Pies

May 8, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Loved these cute little mini pot pies! The filling is creamy and cheesy from the Parmesan and the chicken and broccoli blend in very nicely without being too obvious (making this great to serve children). To cut down on some of the work I made these in regular-sized muffin tins, using a ramekin to cut the dough. Even though my pot pies were larg"

Reviewed Opal Basil-Macerated Peaches

Aug 3, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is a visually stunning recipe that really celebrates the fresh, juicy, and sweet nature of good ripe summer peaches. A very fragrant and light summertime dessert that I would make over and over. The leftover sugar syrup makes for a wonderful addition to ice cold tea.
Note: I was able to find opal basil, but didn't taste a difference...

Reviewed Poblano Rice

Aug 3, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I thought this recipe was outstanding, fun, and flavorful. My family loved the green color, the faint hint of heat, and the fluffy texture of this rice. Prior to making this I had read previous reviews about the rice sticking to the bottom of the pan so I used a nonstick pan, did not stir at all, and everything came out great. This is a fantas...

Reviewed Pastina with Peas and Carrots

Mar 5, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

My entire family loved this recipe and I can see making it over and over again. It is delicious, beautiful, creamy, colorful and very pleasant. I served this with a rotisserie chicken for dinner and there were no leftovers. I will make this again!"

Reviewed Baked Cheese with Chorizo

Feb 8, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I really don't understand why it's so hard for people to write an intelligent review of a recipe. Why would you make this if you only claimed to "like" chorizo? Also, of course the dip is greasy, it's full of cheese and sausage. If perhaps you want to lessen the grease, then drain the fat from the chorizo. Let's use our brains people. There's...

Reviewed Cheesy Baked Tortellini

Dec 21, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

A good, solid recipe that is pretty cute served in little ramekins for the kids (adults too).

Reviewed Artichoke Pesto on Wagon Wheels

Dec 21, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I am crazy about artichokes, but I am not crazy about this recipe. I can't really put my finger on why, it just wasn't a favorite.

Reviewed Fettuccine Alfredo

Dec 21, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I'm giving this recipe 3 stars only because it was really, really heavy (and we like heavy food). Additionally, it was just a bit too much lemon for us (and we like lemon). A good one for the kids, but I'll look for a recipe that is a little lighter.

Reviewed Italian Baked Chicken and Pastina

Dec 21, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is a good solid recipe that is very kid-friendly. It's also a great way to use leftover chicken.

Reviewed Turkey and Cranberry Ravioli

Dec 21, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is a little time-consuming, but it is oh so worth it! Fantastic! The ravioli are meaty and delicious and the sauce.....whoa is that stuff good. This is a wonderful meal, great for Thanksgiving, or any time of the year.

Reviewed Artichoke Gratinata

Dec 21, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I absolutely loved this recipe! I am unable to find frozen artichokes here, so I was forced to used canned. I halved the recipe using one can of artichokes (which I quartered. I also added a splash of lemon juice to the artichokes. I was able to make two small ramekins with half of the recipe. I ate one for lunch and it was so good that I went...

Reviewed Orecchiette with Mini Chicken Meatballs

Dec 21, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is probably my favorite Giada recipe. I love it and so does my entire family. I have made it at least 6-7 times and it is always delicious. I do make some changes. To the meatball mixture, I add only 1 egg. I nearly double the breadcrumbs so that the meatballs are easier to form. Additionally, I add about 2 minced garlic cloves to the meatballs...

Reviewed Orechiette with Sausage, Beans, and Mascarpone

Dec 21, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

One of my very favorite Giada recipes. I just love how hearty and satisfying this recipe is. I do add about 2-3 cloves of minced garlic. Additionally, I deglaze the pan with some Marsala wine after cooking the sausage. This recipe is fabulous!

Reviewed Pancetta and Cinnamon Waffles

Dec 21, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very good recipe. The cinnamon flavor really comes through and the walnuts add a special crunchy touch. Great to make ahead and reheat in the oven or under the broiler.

Reviewed Mozzarella, Raspberry and Brown Sugar Panini

Dec 21, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was a fun recipe to try. I think the best part is the brown sugar crusted bread. I did enjoy the recipe, but probably would not make again.

Reviewed Mini Italian Pub Burgers

Dec 21, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Oh My Gosh are these burgers delicious. A winner of a recipe, I have made them two times (both mini sized and regular-sized). The garlic and tomato flavor (from the tomato paste) really comes through. I like to serve them with Fontina cheese in place of Taleggio.
