Reviewed Grandmother's Chinese Chicken Wings
"I'll make 'em again. Even though I'll make an adjustment to the recipe to make these to our taste, there were awesome just as the recipe is. I left out a star anise as it's not a flavor my wife is a fan of, but I'll put it back in next time. I'll add a little more brown sugar and a little more red pepper. Reviewed Chicken Scarpiello
"OK, we made this just as described in the recipe and as shown on the show. It's really great. Next time we may just go with boneless chicken pieces rather then dealing with hacking the chicken into pieces. I like the hot peppers and the jar we found was just larger then the amount called for so I may add all the peppers and the juice required next time. We found store-made sausage in a local grocery and thought this would be a great addition. Nope. Serves me right for using an unknown ingredient. Know what you're putting into any dish you make. Didn't ruin it at all but the sausage lacked the proper flavor. Very happy with the recipe, we just need to tweak it to our tastes, just a little. "
Reviewed Autumn Chicken Pot Pie
"You'll be so happy you made this. Seriously. We had bought a butternut squash the other day without a plan on what to do with it. We found this recipe only after we searched this site for the squash. It sounded good and we've cooked from Ms. Burrell's recipes in the past. We never saw the show that featured this dish so we just prepared this from the printed recipe. The only substitution was the chicken we used. We had some boneless thighs that we had bought in bulk freezer packs and we used them. The recipe was easy to follow. We roasted the squash in a 375 oven. The deepness of the chicken flavor is amazing and the green beens stay sweet and crisp. We're looking forward to leftovers! Follow this recipe and write your own 5 star review.
I'd rather be cooking.
