Reviewed beef with broccoli teriyaki and ramen noodles

Apr 1, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

LOVED this! I agree with the other reviewer that it is easy to swap veggies (I didn't have as much broccoli so added sliced carrots and sweet red pepper to the mix). We've a vegetarian in the house so instead of beef I used thinly slice seitan. Great use for a case of ramen soup packets I inherited!!

Reviewed Petite Nutella Pochettes

Delicate. Sweet with a hint of tartness. After reading the reviews I added about 1/2 teaspoon of salt (I always cook with unsalted butter) and a dash of almond flavoring. I also kept the portion I wasn't working with in the refrigerator to keep it from getting too warm.

This is a great way to use the bottom of the jar of nutella,...

There was nothing terribly wrong or bad about this ... but there was nothing great as well (hence 3 stars). The jalapeno adding an interesting flavor, but I missed the juiciness of a cobbler. I doubt I would make this again."

Reviewed Orange and Basil Biscotti

Sep 15, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I love making biscotti - an elegant cookie that is easy. This recipe certainly met my expectations! I was intrigued by the combination of orange and basil but leery as I am not a huge basil fan. It does not have a strong basil flavor, in fact the basil blends so well with the orange (hubby didn't even recognize the basil!). I used fresh basil sinc"

I watched the video first and am glad I did. As another reviewer noted, in the video Ina says 1 1/2 cups sugar and 2 pints strawberries, which is different than the recipe. I followed the video and let it cook at a rolling boil for just over 20 minutes. I think it will set up nicely and initial taste test is not too sweet. I was concerned about th"

Reviewed Gina's White Sangria

Jul 20, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

In a panic to find a good white sangria that I could make and serve within a couple of hours. This was it! The peach schnapps were a key ingredient.. didn't have sauvignon blanc but had a magnum of some white wine (I think it was a pinot) which wasn't great for drinking ---- the sangria certainly fixed that problem!

Served it at...

I made this for my Ladies' Movie Night and everyone loved it and requested the recipe (always a good sign). It was easy enough to make and very flavorful. Did not make any modifications to recipe when I made it.

Enjoy!"

Reviewed Oven-Fried Chicken

Jun 25, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I needed to make a large amount of fried chicken for a parish luncheon. This recipe made it very easy and I didn't have to stand over hot grease for a long time. Moreover, the chicken was crispy on the outside and moist inside! "

Reviewed Pumpkin and Black Bean Soup

Mar 19, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The flavors in this soup are remarkable. One wouldn't think black beans, pumpkin, tomatoes would make for a great soup - a wonderful surprise. I enjoy curry but wouldn't say I'm a curry lover so was concerned it would be too strong; but it was quite mild. A definite repeat recipe!""
