My Activity

Reviewed Corn Chowder

"Now I'm not from the Midwest, but I know corn. I've made salsas, salads, on the cob with manchego and lime...this soup was hands-down the most delicious. I used sweet farm fresh corn, at peak season, and it was absolutely delicious. Im looking forward to next summer so that I can make it again! ""

Reviewed Chilled Cucumber Soup with Shrimp

"Delicious summer soup. Couldn't be easier to make. The lemon juice makes the soup pop and the flavors meld together perfectly. I used slightly less red onion and cream and omitted the shrimp altogether. Great recipe that doesn't even use a pot (just a big bowl and a food processor). How Easy Is That?"

Reviewed Lemon Yogurt Cake

"Absolutely fantastic cake. It's so simple and the perfect way to finish off a meal. The first time I made it I left it in the oven too long. It was little dry. Whaaaa. I made it again and pulled the cake once the top was slightly brown. I tested it with a skewer and it was perfect. Total cooking time was 70 minutes (it's possible I have a t"

Reviewed Chili Chocolate-Covered Strawberries

"So simple, so delicious. I bought really good strawberries for this and it paid off. The bittersweet chocolate hits just the right note with the incredibly juicy and sweet fruit! Yum. Chili powder is a nice addition. Next time I will substitute chili with some sea salt to change things up a bit. "

Reviewed Fresh Pea Soup

"Delicious and seasonal. I substituted the chicken stock for homemade vegetable stock and it worked well. I also pureed the chives and then mixed in the creme fraiche. This is a wonderful way to start off an Earth Day dinner! Now what shall I make for the main course....?! "

Reviewed Provencal Vegetable Soup

"WONDERFUL! One of my favorite soups I've made thus far. Here's why:
1. It's easy to make...
2. It can be a meal (with some french baguette) or an appetizer
3. It's inexpensive to make, and except for the saffron (which I happen to have), the ingredients are straightforward and easy to find.
4. The pistou infuses the soup with a wonderful, fresh and bold punch. For some reason this hearty soup still feels "light."
perfect for any season. I really like this. Excellent!"

Reviewed Lemon Spaghetti

"So simply, so tasty. I used very juicy lemons and less oil than required (some where between 1/3 and 2/3 of a cup). I paired it with Giada's Italian Caesar Salad with Polenta Croutons, since that recipe also contains fresh lemon juice in the vinaigrette. It paired perfectly. Chill a bottle of white wine and serve with this dish. Perfect! "
