My Activity

Reviewed Momma Callie's Banana Nut Bread with Honey Butter

"WOW! Great recipe! The sour cream (though highly caloric gives the bread that extra special richness that reminds you to NOT top it off with the honey butter and to jog/walk/run that extra mile in the gym the next day..lol. My beloved mom believes that it is shameful to not include nutmeg/cinnamon/lime zest/fresh grated ginger and lemongrass to a baked good such as a sweet bread, so of course I added them and boy do they take your loaf to another level. I dislike pecans so I traded it in for my beloved walnuts! Its even better the next day, TRUST ME!!! Be sure you have many other people to share the loaf with or it will end up exactly where you don't want it..on your hips/thighs/back, etc. *update* I made this a 2nd time with only 1 egg, 1/3 c Sourcream and 2/3 cup sugar and it was STILL fantabulous!!

Reviewed Momma Callie's Banana Nut Bread with Honey Butter

"WOW! Great recipe! Be sure to use a stand mixer to cream the butter/sugar for at least 4 minutes at medium/high as it is sure to result in a moist and fluffy loaf. The sour cream (though highly caloric) gives the bread that extra special richness that reminds you to NOT top it off with the honey butter and to jog/walk/run that extra mile in the gym the next day..lol. My beloved mom believes that it is shameful to not include nutmeg/cinnamon/lime zest/fresh grated ginger and lemongrass to a baked good such as a sweet bread, so of course I added them and boy do they take your loaf to another level. There is no nut that I dislike more than pecans, so I traded it in for my beloved walnuts! Its even better the next day, TRUST ME!!! I can't wait to make it again. Be sure you have many other people to share the loaf with or it will end up exactly where you don't want it..on your hips/thighs/back, etc. Happy baking & eating everyone!
