Reviewed Butternut Squash Soup

Nov 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Fantastic!! I heeded the advice of the reviewers here and cut back dramatically on the stock and it turned out perfectly! I also thought a medium onion was a little too much so the second time I made it, I cut back and it was perfect for my family's taste buds! In fact, this dish has been demanded for Turkey day! ""

Absolutely ah-mazing!! When I making them, I thought to myself "I am making waaaaay too much here, there's no way we are going to be able to eat all of them!" I was so wrong! Not only did we eat all of them but we wanted more! This recipe is definitely a keeper!! Super easy and beyond tasty! ""

Reviewed Beef Taco Salad with Chunky Tomato Dressing

Jul 7, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was a very good recipe and extremely easy as well. The only thing I'd add is some onions to the beef when it first starts cooking because we are big on onion flavor in my family. I think this would also go great with some guacamole. Definitely will be making this again! "

Reviewed Summer Salsa with a Shot

Jul 6, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Amazing!! Made this for the first time over the 4th of July weekend and people LOVED it! I did add the tequila (about 1.5 tablespoons) and you couldn't taste the alcohol but it did give the salsa a bit of a kick. Its only the 6th of July and people are already asking me to make it again! Its a keeper! "

It was amazing and quite a hit with my family and friends (even the carnivorous ones!)!! It was spicy enough for most people but then some wanted to add the Creole seasoning (at the bottom of the recipe) as well and their faces turned RED! All the time spent is in the prep. I also noticed that my grocery bill at Safeway was a hearty one because of"

Reviewed Sweet and Sour Pork

May 16, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I have to say that this was a surprise hit. Granted, its not your traditional sweet and sour pork - like the kind you'd find in Chinatown HOWEVER, it really has an amazing flavor. It was pretty easy although my cooking time was a bit longer than what the recipe stated (mainly due to the wok I was using and my generous cuts of the pork). I think ne"

Reviewed Oven Fried Chicken

May 10, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This chicken was absolutely delicious!! Of course, because its oven fried its not your traditional "fried chicken" but from a California mind set - this recipe is much healthier and 10x more delicious than KFC or something like that. The seasoning was a bit tangy (which is fabulous) and the chicken was super moist - the entire family loved it!! Wi"

I made these for the first time for my husband's birthday dinner. He LOVED them. They were so good! Instead of shrimp, I used prawns and they were perfect! Can't wait to make them again!! "

Reviewed Pizza with Fresh Tomatoes and Basil

Mar 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

After reading the reviews here, I decided against using the recipe for dough and instead, bought dough from my local Papa Murphy's (I just don't have the time to make my own dough nowadays). This pizza was absolutely AMAZING. It reminded me of the kind of pizza I used to get as a child at authentic Italian restaurants. The beauty of it is that you...

This was pretty good - never having had gumbo before, I can't really be a judge as to whether or not it was authentic. It is pretty tame, which is nice because some people in my family prefer milder foods, while the others added hot sauce to their liking. I am by no means an expert chef but the prep time took much longer than I had anticipated but...

My family immediately defrosted the part I had saved the day after and it was all gone by the third day. Truly a great recipe that I will keep for a long time!! Thank yo...

Feb 7, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Don't listen to the negative reviews! This dish is deeeeelish!! Everyone loves it! The only thing is that it can get a bit too artichoke-y so I cut down the amount and it turned out perfectly!

Reviewed Mac & Cheese

Feb 7, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is amazing! Everyone loved it! It is very different than your usual run of the mill mac and cheese recipes because the cheese is a lot milder than the usual which is what makes it so tasty and almost gourmet. Next time I think I might double the amount of bread since my family was commenting on how there wasn't enough.

Reviewed Texas Oven-Roasted Beef Brisket

Feb 7, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

It was ah-mazing!! Truly! I made this on a whim and based on all the reviews, and my family couldn't have been happier! I went with what some of the reviewers had said and cut the salt portion in half and it was so tasty!! Definitely will be making this again!
