I doctored it up just a little, and added 1/4 tsp. garlic powder and 1 tsp. molasses as per my son's suggestion. I let it simmer for about 2 hours. Marinated the chicken breast and chicken thigh with bottled Italian dressing for about an hour; then basted the BBQ sauce last 10 minutes of grilling. Sauce was perfect and we will no longer buy bottle"

Am making this right now. Here's what I've learned so far: a (scant less than 20 oz. plastic bottle of ketchup is equal to 2 cups when I measured it in a cup for dry ingredients and 1/2 tablespoon is equal to 1 1/2 teaspoons. Not sure why the Neely's didn't just say that in the recipe. My 15 yr. old son, who loves BBQ sauce says it doesn't smell g"
