My Activity

I have no recent activity to share.

About Me

I am of Armenian decent and enjoy cooking
foods of my heritage as well as other
ethnic dishes. I especially enjoy discovering
new spices and using them in something for
the first time.
Like most people, I learned to cook from my
mother but my extended lessons came from
watching a chef from Chicago on TV named
Antoinette Pope and an early age. Later
I watched Julia Child and The Galloping
Gourmet almost religiously and experimented
using their recipes. I love to sit around the
table with family and friends sharing a good
meal and talking about everything and anything. Enjoy your company while they are
there - we clear the dishes but they never
get washed till after they are gone.

Favorite Foods

Armenian, Greek, Italian, Chinese and
American.
I am known for an Armenian dessert named
Kadiyif. It is shredded phyllo dough with
a cream filling, baked and topped with a
syrup made from water, sugar and lemon.
I especially enjoy making foods others
like best and have perfected. All the guess
work is done. I love the challenge of creating
a meal from whatever I have on hand.
