My Activity

Reviewed Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

"Excellent recipe. Used Jif peanut butter, otherwise made as directed. Once cooled they became crisp with a more robust peanut taste; salt is an excellent touch. This is a keeper. "

Reviewed Butternut Squash and Pork Lasagna

"The pork ragu by itself is excellent. Developing the fond from the vegetable puree added complexity and depth of flavor worth the time and effort. However, the recipe once compiled as written was disappointing overall. Would not make this again. "

Reviewed Turkey Sandwiches with Cranberry Relish, Stuffing and Gravy

"Awesome recipe and great way to use Thanksgiving leftovers! I can see myself roasting a turkey and making stuffing just so I can make these sandwiches...YUM.

Reviewed Good Eats Roast Turkey

"Followed recipe to the letter and it was indeed very good. Turkey came out moist and delicious; even today after being refrigerated it's still quite tasty. However, I still prefer the flavor imparted by previous years brining recipe: 1 gal water heated to boiling, removed from heat adding - 1 cup kosher salt; 1/2 cup brown sugar; 1/2 cup white sugar; 1 tbsp peppercorns; 1 orange & 1 lemon both quartered and squeezed of their juice; 1 med. onion-quartered; 2 sprigs each fresh rosemary & thyme; allow to cool before adding bird . Brine 4-6 hours for breast or overnight for whole bird.

Reviewed Velvety Mashed Potatoes

"An excellent recipe using basic ingredients resulting in a great tasting mashed potato. The olive oil finish lent a complexity and depth of flavor to a relatively simple dish. Unfortunately mine weren't as velvety as I expected, most likely because I don't have a mill or ricer. So I had a lump here and there but they tasted GREAT!
