My Activity

Reviewed Potato and Leek Soup

"Excellent and easy to make. Both my husband and I loved it. I made it vegetarian by omitting the bacon (we don't eat meat). I also used half-and-half instead of heavy cream because I was trying to cut some of the calories. It was still delicious! I have made other potato/leek soups before but this will be my new go-to recipe. You have to try it!""

Reviewed Parker's Split Pea Soup

"Excellent! this will be my new go to pea soup recipe. I'm trying to eat healthy, mostly vegetarian but yummy food and this fits the bill. I did not have potatoes but I honestly did not miss them. Some reviewers said they had to cook the peas for a much longer time and that they were still not soft, but I did not have any problems. Sometimes dried peas can be old and then they may not soften? I used Knorr Chicken flavored bouillon to make my chicken broth (if you do that, leave out the salt given in the recipe or it will be too salty) and it made for an excellent soup coupled with Ina's ingredients.
