Reviewed Pumpkin Bread

So good! My kids love this for breakfast or snacks. It is terrific as is, but sometimes I substitute applesauce for some of the vegetable oil for less fat content. I have tried doing 1/2 cup of applesauce and 1/4 cup of oil, and I have tried it with substituting all applesauce. Both times it worked out well, but I prefer it with a little oil s"

This is our favorite way to use the last of our turkey leftovers. So hearty and perfect for a cold evening. This soup has become a tradition after every Thanksgiving. "

Definitely classic comfort food. Easy and yummy. My kids loved it. I should add that I never use yellow onion; we don't really care for it at our house. I always use sweet or Vidalia onions since that is what we like. If you don't like strong onion flavor I reccomend using a sweet onion instead. ""

We loved these beans and rice. Seemed intimidating but was actually pretty simple. I will soak the beans prior to cooking next time, though, since they took a lot longer to cook than stated in the recipe. It makes a lot, so I end up making only half the rice and freezing half the beans for another meal and make fresh rice when we heat up the l...

Reviewed Three Bean and Beef Chili

Jan 21, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

My family loved this chili. I was a little nervous while making it because it wasn't a typical chili recipe, but it came together perfectly. I served it with some cornbread and my kids ate it up.

The only thing I will change next time is probably adding another chipotle chili and an extra teaspoon of adobo sauce. It was not...

This is very good. Like the other reviewers, I removed the bones before adding the other ingredients. I also only added on tsp of thyme. This is definitely one of our after turkey day meals!

Reviewed Cranberry Sauce

Best cranberry sauce I have ever had. We gave up the canned stuff a couple of years ago and started making it from scratch. This recipe is excellent. I added a little cinnamon. Like he says in the video, you could add a bunch of different things to make it your own. Way good! Oh, and use fresh o.j. It's worth it!

As far as meatloaf goes, this is the best I have ever had. It was good and I will use this recipe when I would normally make meatloaf.

Reviewed Slow Cooker Pepper Pork Chops

Nov 23, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

These pork chops were fantastic, except for the fact that they were a slightly too salty. My husband thought they were fine, but I prefer less salt. (And yes, I did use kosher salt. The chops were all natural, so no added salt solution. I followed the recipe exactly.) Next time I will cut back on the salt in the brine. Also, they were done a...

Nov 12, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

This is our all time favorite baked bean recipe. A few things: If you don't like it so spicy leave out the seeds and the membrane from the jalepeno. The first time I cooked it I left those in and it was very good, but too spicy for my kids. The second suggestion is to use a cast iron dutch oven. It really does make a difference.

This is the best turkey we have ever had. We have made it a few times this past year and it is excellent. It really isn't terribly difficult to make, smells good, and tastes so yummy.

I recommend watching the episode it is from before making it. It makes the instructions much more clear. The only trouble I had is getting...
