We live at 6500 feet, and this recipe was fine. I cut the sugar to one cup and the oil to 3/4. It suffered from the changes because it wasn't very moist. And the batter was very thick. It still tasted okay, though."

Reviewed Best Ever Green Bean Casserole

Nov 23, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I wanted to try a new approach to the standard green bean thing. This was easy and good. I didn't have the time to make te onions and substituted the ones out of the can. Otherwise, the heat was too high and had to turn it down after 10 minutes bc the edges were starting to burn. Will do again."

Apr 7, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe was good. The sauce took a long time to thicken, which could have been because I used cold milk. The flavor was a little bland, needs more salt and spices, but it was creamy inside and the topping was crunchy. Just eat it immediately or it loses the creaminess."
