“The recipe should specify "two 14 oz. cans of sweetened condensed milk" and not just condensed milk.
The first time I made the pie I used 28 oz. of condensed milk measured by a measuring cup, using two and some portion of a third can. The condensed milk was from cans labeled as "net 12 fl. oz.". The pie never did solidify.
