Reviewed Thai Chicken Soup

Dec 1, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

I think this is a good soup! I used yellow curry that I had on hand, MUCH less cilantro, and dumplings instead of noodles. I found that the chicken dumplings I used not only cut through the slight bitterness of the soup, but also added some much needed flavour. Not a bad base recipe to start with!

Reviewed Souvlaki -- Small Skewers of Pork

This is an incredibly tasty, and surprising recipe! The best advice I can give after trying this is to *trust your recipe*! Once I had the pork marinading, I got really nervous! It seemed like all the lemon juice with the salt and vinegar was going to be way too much, so I added a tbsp of sugar... don't do it! It still tasted delicious, but it would...

This is a fantastic recipe! I doubled the vanilla, used all brown sugar, used only a cup of small chocolate chunks, and followed the rest of the recipe as is. These had a great texture, but I did watch the very closely in the oven, they took only about 10 minutes. "

I really liked this recipe! It was easy to use and the flavour was great for chocolate lovers. However, the baking time was way off. It almost burned after only 10 minutes!! Granted, my oven runs a little hot, but not hot enough to cut the time down by half an hour, lol! My advice is to watch it carefully, and other than that it's great!"

Reviewed Honey Almond Crunch Cake

I made this recipe on a whim, and I was REALLY impressed! The texture is phenomenal and the honey adds a really nice, but really subtle flavor. If you want to knock this one out of the park, try replacing a half cup of the flour with cocoa powder. Awesome!! I'm making this cake again today and making some ganache with it and omitting the candy cru"

Reviewed Pickled Ginger

Jun 10, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is fantastic! It tastes exactly like the pickled ginger in sushi restaurants, which was exactly what I was hoping for. Another reviewer mentioned that they left out the bay leaves, but I wouldn't. I used two small leaves and they imparted a flavour that I think would be missed. "

A very good soup for how quick it is! After making this recipe a couple of times, I now only use a 1/4 of the lime called for - I find using the full amount overwhelms the other fantastic flavours. "
