"I have been using this recipe since 1976 but the one I use has 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour & 1 cup Crisco. This ratio does not create a very sticky dough. It keeps & freezes very well.""

"This is a huge cake & I also had to double the frosting amount but decided next time would make 4 layers rather than 3 & freeze 2 for later & make a smaller version. This cake has all the ingredients I love & is absolutely awesome."
