My Activity
Reviewed Potato and Poblano Gratin
"This gratin was a huge disappointment. The Monterey Jack cheese was too mild for the other ingredients. The creme fraiche was expensive and added nothing to the dish. The corn, now that was the hidden treat. I make gratins often, but this one is not a keeper. ""
Reviewed The Ultimate Potato Gratin
"This recipe is wonderful! I've made it time and time again and am never disappointed. At times I've substituted green cabbage for the savoy and results are equally as tasty.""
Reviewed Creamy Wild Rice
"I made this recipe for Thanksgiving dinner and my husband and I thought it was okay, but not great. In particular, I don't think the mustard is needed.
Reviewed French Onion Soup
"I normally make Julia Child's French Onion Soup, but decided to try Tyler's (I do love his recipes). However, this one didn't do it for me. I didn't feel the red wine complimented the onions, and beef flavor should have been richer. So I guess I'm back to my tried-and-true Child's recipe with white wine and beef bouillon.
Reviewed Salsa Borracha
"I love making salsas and cooking with chiles. But this recipe definitely missed the mark. The chiles were far too overpowering for the other ingredients. I tried it because of the OJ - thinking it would add a nice sweet taste next to the chiles. Unfortunately, the OJ flavor was completely lost. Oh well, so I move on to another recipe.
