I don't know if I did something wrong, or if I'm just spoiled to the excellent steamed mussels at a couple of restaurants I've been to, but after reading all of these glowing reviews, I was a little disappointed with how these turned out. They were good, but I have had much better sauce with steamed mussels before."

Next time I might use andouille sausage instead of the ham, but this recipe was very tasty for a low-fat version. I don't know why this recipe is rated as "Intermediate" difficulty; it is super simple. Definitely needs more salt, and I'll kick the spices up a bit next time too, but overall, I was very pleased with how it turned out."

I did this in the oven instead of the grill, and despite somehow catching on fire in the oven, it was very good! (Yeah, I'm a bit of a clutz and not the greatest cook.) This recipe was pretty easy even for someone who isn't used to cooking things like this. Despite the flames in the oven, I would definitely make this again!"

This was very good, but I have had better so I gave it 4 stars. There was a recall on ground turkey, so I used lean ground beef. I also added 1/2 teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper to spice it up a little.
