This was lovely. I roasted my red and poblano pepper, peeled and chopped it before adding. Could not taste the beer whatsoever and believe the cooks that complained of the beer taste didn't cook the alcohol off by simmering before adding the remaining ingredients.

Just saw you on wife swap Gina and when I saw your recipe I thought I'd give it a try. It was FABULOUS. I had pound and a half of chicken, so doubled the sauce and stir fried it with Chinese steamed noodles. In light of the noodles, I should have tripled the sauce. I did add a tsp. of cooking sherry to the sauce also. YUM!

Loved it and I had Spartans on hand which needed an extra half hour to soften. I would also felt there was too much topping so would cut that back by 25% next time. This is a keeper and really liked the fresh citrus undertones.

I love this recipe, it was neither too light nor too dense. I made a mistake and added 2 tsp. of baking powder instead of baking soda to the dry ingredients. Some internet research indicated baking powder could be swapped out for baking soda but not the other way around. So I added one tsp. of baking soda, swapped out 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour...

Loved the recipe and love you Rach. It was a tad too sweet for me and I only added a scant 1/4 cup to begin with. Will only add 2 tbsp. next time and will cut the tomato sauce back to 1 cup as I would prefer some beef stock instead. My family loved the toasted buns that I toasted under the broiler."

Wonderful comfort food and filling. I added cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, red & green cabbage, onions and chow mien noodles instead of linguini. I didn't have bean sprouts. I took other's advice and doubled the sauce, but found it was too much. Probably 1 1/2 of the recipe would be perfect. Would also add 2 cloves of garlic next time."
