About Me

I live in the part of MS that Katrina hit - we live in a house high and dry away from the beach now. I worked in Food and Beverage for many years and am currently on leave, enjoying myself at home, and travelling a lot. I enjoy travel, reading, bridge, and cooking. I own over 350 cookbooks and subscribe to 4 cooking magazines per month.
I'm also into fitness, so I have to modify some of the recipes, but I'm getting good at it. I love theatre, opera, ballet, and am able to appreciate them in nearby New Orleans and Mobile. The same with dining out, especially in New Orleans now that more restaurants are re-opening after the storm.

Favorite Foods

Slow simmered soups and stews. Anything Italian, Mexican, Indian or Greek. I enjoy our excellent regional cooking: gumbos, etoufees, shrimp/crab boils, catfish. I love French food (just got back from Paris) at it's highest level, but am happy to sit down to a meal of turnip greens and cornbread. I'm deeply born and bred Southern.
