Reviewed Best Gravy Ever
"I stuggled with this recipe, and I'm no amateur in the kitchen, Here's why it didn't work out perfectly for me: he has us separate the fat from the drippings to make a roux, but my turkey didn't have very much fat leftover in the drippings. So, I was letting the drippings cool, desperately trying scrape a little off the top for the roux and it was just silly. I got rather frustrated with that step.
That part didn't work for me, but I used the ingredients list to make the gravy a different way, and it was delicious. So, the flavor was superb and I think it's worth another try. If you have the same struggle, just make your own roux with butter and then follow the recipe from there.
Reviewed Roasted Turkey with Artichoke-Sausage Stuffing
"This review is only for the stuffing, as I used a different recipe for the turkey. Also, I do not stuff my turkey, but bake the dressing on the side.
This was fabulous! My husband ranted and raved about during the entire meal and the next day... he didn't even have turkey leftovers, he only wanted the stuffing!
Next time I might add an egg, because with all of the artichokes, mushrooms and sausage it tended to separate when it was served. But the flavors were so superb, I just may not bother!
Reviewed Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes
"We made this for a side dish in our Cristmas dinner and it was a big hit! It was so easy to make and has so much flavor! Next time I'm going to add just a touch less 1/2 and 1/2, as the potatoes were just slightly more runny than I like them.
Great mashers!
