My Activity

Reviewed Uncommonly Good Bread Pudding

"Oh boy! I wish I had read some of the reviewers' comments before making this recipe. The amounts of sugar and butter involved are criminal - that's why it was truly "uncommonly good"!!! And it smelled incredible too. When I make this again, I am definitely cutting down on those two bad, delicious ingredients...

Reviewed Chocolate Mousse

"This was good and easy to make, except that it was a bit too sweet for my husband and me. What worked really well, though, was adding orange zest to the chocolate mixture after it had cooled. That added a new flavor dimension.

Reviewed Hot-and-Sour Seafood Soup

"I would make this again with some minor adjustments. I thought the soup was a bit too thick, so I would use less cornstarch next time. I also doubled the amount of ginger. For the flavor, I used 2 tbsp of soy sauce instead of one, and that made a big difference. My husband added a spicy oil to his serving, and that came out pretty awesome.

Reviewed Chocolate Spiced Pork Chops

"Best pork chops ever: quick, easy, and super yummy.

Reviewed Indian Rice Pudding

"Thanks Aarti! This was amazing, and so easy too. The rose water made everything extra special. I used 1/2 cups of sugar and, although it was a bit on the sweet side, my husband I didn't think it was too much. I am definitely going to make this again!

Reviewed Diana's Favorite Lemon Mousse Cheesecake

"I made this to bring to a dinner party, but will have to go with plan B.
Pros:
- This lemon mousse is really, really tasty.
- It is light and fluffy, and not too lemony.
Cons:
- 18 graham crackers make way too much crust. Mine didn't hold together when it was time to unmold.
- I followed all the baking instructions, but after over an hour in the oven, the center of my cheesecake was still gooey. I thought it would be stiffer after chilling, but no.
Because the flavor is so awesome, I will give it another shot, but I am disappointed it didn't work out. If you've never made a cheesecake before, try Paula Deen's pumpkin cheesecake. It's a no-fail recipe.

Reviewed Pumpkin Cheesecake

"I like my cheesecake to be on the lighter side, and this worked beautifully. I've made this twice, and it received amazing reviews each time. Someone even thought I had bought it from a special cheesecake bakery. "What? You made this?" they said. I replied, "with some help from Paula." Thanks for a great recipe!

Reviewed Beef and Black Bean Chili with Green Onion Corn Cakes

"I don't use any other chili recipe. This is it! It's so easy, it's quick, and the flavors are wonderful! I did substitute the tomato paste with pasta sauce I had on hand. It worked great! I have done this recipe 4 times in the past 2 months or so, and my family still asks for it.
