My Activity

Reviewed Chicken with Wild Mushrooms

"This was so yummy! I made it too salty, so next time I will be sure to cut back on the salt. The kids liked too, which was a bonus. Ina was right on too when she said the flavors got better. It was even better two days later for left-overs (still too salty)!"

Reviewed Roman-style Chicken

"Yum, my kids loved it, my husband did too. Actually, since this is a make ahead dish, we threw it all together in the morning, but instead of cooking it over the stove, we threw it in the Crock Pot for that evening... delish. We served it over bow-tie pasta and partnered it with fresh steamed broccoli.""

About Me

There was a time that I loved to cook and try new recipes, but now I cook on the run and it really isn't fun. I have two busy teen-agers who have me behind the wheel of my car, and a job that gives me only 20 ish minutes to eat, so I find that eating is rarely for enjoyment.  It's a bit annoying really, when my husband do go out for a nice meal we are both finished eating within 10 minutes.

Favorite Foods

As I mentioned before, I really am not a cooking fan anymore.  There was a time that I loved it.

I love making Monkey Bread on Christmas morning because it is our tradition.  I love eating, Kory Potatoes, which is just a simple potato casserole that can be used for breakfast, or as a side dish on special occassions, or (if you add ham) the perfect recipe for Funeral Potatoes.  My extended family named this dish after a very close family friend, who, while a football player for the University of Northern Iowa, could eat the entire 9x13 pan in one sitting.

The one dish I am famous for (which isn't really a dish, AND I didn't create) is hummus.  My Lebonese friend Katya, showed me how to make it and I didn't even change the recipe.  So, THANKS Katya.

One would think that since I don't cook, that I probably eat out a lot and therefore have a favorite restaurant -- WRONG. I we just make a lot of sandwiches and stuff from the Crock Pot.
