Reviewed Cranberry Fruit Conserve
"I needed a cranberry recipe so I thought I'd give it a try. I followed the recipe as written and after letting it cool I gave it a taste. WOW! It was great. The walnuts added a nice textural element and the apples and citrus gave it a bit of complexity. I really think this is the best cranberry "sauce" I've ever made. I'll definitely add this to m""
Reviewed Roasted Turkey Roulade
"We had a smaller group for Thanksgiving and I saw this on television so I thought I'd try it. I deboned and butterflied the breast myself and it was not a problem. The meal was absolutely spectacular! First, I didn't have to struggle with overcooking the breast to ensure the thighs were done. Second, the presentation was nice. I removed the roast ""
Reviewed Pumpkin Chiffon Pie
"This is the kind of recipe that makes us love Paula Deen! It was super easy and tasted great. I even dialed the lazy factor up a notch by using a premade crushed vanilla wafer crust. The kids counted out the marshmallows and once the mixture was cooled finished the pie. I let it set in the refridge for an hour as recommended on the television show. ""
About Me
I learned to cook as a teen watching Grahm Kerr, "The Galloping Gourmet" on television. My working mother seized upon my interest and encouraged me to help with the family meals. Throughout my adult life I have always been the primary family cook and have tried to pass this on to my two adult sons as we spent wonderful times together in the kitchen. Now I cook for my wife, our year and a half old son, my parents, and my mother-in-law. My wife and mother-in-law are originally from Mexico and I am learning to cook authentic Mexican food for them. This has opened an exciting new chapter in my culinary life. My wife and I travel to Mexico frequently and enjoy exploring and eating our way around Baja California.
Favorite Foods
My favorite thing to cook is grilled rack of lamb with mint chimichurri, garlicky smashed potatoes, and asparagus. My favorite restaurants are Ami Louis in Paris, Michael Mina in San Francisco, and, for sentimental reasons, Bronco's in Ensenada.
