Reviewed Chai

This was not the typical Indian chai!
Had a weird conglomeration of flavors that left a bitter taste in the mouth.

Reviewed Massaged Kale Salad

What worked - the pepita seeds
What did not work - pretty much the rest of the ingredients! I like my kale crunchy and also the tender stalk parts. This massaging technique made it limp and unappetizing.
Why does Aarti have to add honey to EVERY recipe of her's? How fattening!
The mango also seemed out of place for this...

This dish totally was a failure. An unsavory, bland end result!

Good. The usual fare I have had at small meal places in India.

Reviewed Salty Sweet Limeade

such a lengthy review for a simple limeade? Seems fishy.
I did not like this.

Reviewed Hot Dogs a la Rose

Wow. once again, the interspersing of bad and good reviews. What a coincidence.

I did not like the flavor combo in this one. Well, the discredit goes to the original owner of this recipe as there seems to be a dispute on that!

Reviewed Come 'ere Puddin' Pie - Chocolate-Ginger Pudding Pie

This was good, but next time I would omit the eggs. I did not like the goooey, gummy texture of the filling.
Aarti should give a vegetarian/vegan version of this.
Wanted to give this 2 and half stars. Did not find that option, hence 3 stars.

Reviewed Strawberry-Basil Yogurt Cooler - Lassi

umm, OK i think. Nothing spectacular.
I agree, greek style yogurt made it very thick!

Reviewed Coconut Toffee

Oct 3, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

The toffee did not set, but just got shredded or crumbled.
Also on Aarti's show, it looked more like bufri - an Indian sweet. Is that what it is? If so, why is Aarti calling it toffee?
The recipe has clearly not been tried several times, by the chef.

Reviewed Pulled Pork with Mango BBQ Sauce

Oct 3, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

Mango is considered a sattvic food and Aarti has used it on barbequed meat.
Blasphemy! :(

Reviewed Shrimp and Pineapple Not-So Po' Boys

Shrimp and pineapple?
Ayurveda states that meats and fruit are not to be mixed.
This recipe was good, but what it did later was unmentionable. :-(
Food should not attack the body.

I wonder how a dish can have such mixed reviews, especially good ones and bad ones alternating?

I simply hated this recipe ingredient combo. Also the quantity of quinoa specified in recipe was huge! There was plenty leftover.

People are just reviewing without any sensible statements.
Mango is cooling, spices or not? Wow, first time I am reading that!
Ayurveda considers mango to have heating properties and energizing.
