My Activity

Reviewed Asparagus and Cheese Tart

"Major Mother's Day brunch hit. Easy, the hardest part was grating the cheeses. Fontina is soft, pop it in the freezer to make grating easier. When I rolled out the pastry, it was hard to keep it perfectly square (I'm a terrible roller), so it looks a little rustic, but who cares, it's amazingly delicious."

Reviewed Chocolate Bread Pudding

"OMG, this was one of the most delicious desserts I've ever made. So easy and everyone went nuts for it. I served it with Kelsey Nixon's Salted Caramel Sauce (do a search for it on the FN site) and it was amazing. I'd make again in a heartbeat. It had tons of flavor and was great straight out of the oven. Must serve warm!""

Reviewed Smoked Salmon Frittata

"This was divine. It presents beautifully and is extremely easy to make. I did not change anything about the recipe. I was concerned that it wouldn't fit in the 10 inch skillet, but it does perfectly. It even de-paned perfectly. You must use fresh dill (not dried), it makes such a huge difference. Also, splurge and get god lox from the deli counter, don't get the vacuum. packed stuff"

Reviewed Cast Iron Skillet Corn Bread

"Sublime. This is my first skillet cornbread and it could not have come out any better. It was easy and is impressive. I was concerned about the bread sticking to the skilled because my skillet is that that well seasoned, but there's so much butter in this recipe, I think that would be pretty impossible. The cast iron skillet is so versatile and inexpensive. Cannot wait to try some other cast iron skillet baking.
