Reviewed Salmon-Fennel Salad

Aug 19, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was a big hit. Very refreshing and the salmon was perfectly moist. It was the first time I'd brined a salmon and it was worth the extra time. I used the mandolin to shave the fennel. I think this is better than a fine chop."

Major Mother's Day brunch hit. Easy, the hardest part was grating the cheeses. Fontina is soft, pop it in the freezer to make grating easier. I served it with Kelsey Nixon's Salted Caramel Sauce (do a search for it on the FN site) and it was amazing. I'd make again in a heartbeat. It had tons of flavor and was great straight out of the oven. Must serve warm!""

It even de-paned perfectly. You must use fresh dill (not dried), it makes such a huge difference. Also, splurge and get god lox from the deli counter,...

Reviewed Cast Iron Skillet Corn Bread

Jan 24, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Sublime. This is my first skillet cornbread and it could not have come out any better. It was easy and is impressive. I was concerned about the bread sticking to the skilled because my skillet is that that well seasoned, but there's so much butter in this recipe, I think that would be pretty impossible. The cast iron skillet is so versatile and inexpensive....
