Reviewed Mini Whole Wheat Banana Breads with Chocolate Chips

Oct 3, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made a few substitutions since I didn't have a few of the ingredients. I didn't have have ground ginger so left that out and instead chocolate chips I used 1/4 cup Nutella. Instead of the light brown sugar I used 1/4 cup regular brown sugar and 1/4 cup agave. I poured the batter into a small cookie sheet because I don't have any mini loaf pans. "

I followed the recipe with two exceptions: didn't have Herbs de Provence so I used Italian herbs and didn't use ground turkey breast just regular ground turkey which is still lean. It was a pleasant surprise, I thought it would taste sort of boring but it was flavorful. So healthy and hearty."

This was so yummy! The best part is that is was also easy. Definitely a keeper. I made a couple of slight adjustments - added a Chile de arbol (for extra spice) and a pinch of cumin. It was awesome with queso fresco and avocado."

Reviewed Michael's Banana Coffee Muffins

May 10, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made the following modifications: used 1 cup regular ap flour and 1/2 cup whole wheat, added 1/2 cup oatmeal and added broken up pieces of dark chocolate. Also I only had three bananas. If you like a sweet muffin add more sugar - I really thought these would be sweeter. Next time I will try 1/4 extra cup of sugar or maybe sprinkle sugar on top. "

Its quite tasty! The first time I made it I only had parsley available so I used that instead of dill. I used only 1 tsp. of salt based on a bunch of reviews and that was plenty. Delicious!""

Jan 14, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I'm not a fan of coleslaw but I had an almost untouched head of cabbage in the refrigerator and figured I could make coleslaw to have with the pulled pork we purchased the other day. Its so easy to make and way better than the stuff at KFC. I bet it would be awesome on a burger or a hot dog too. Yummy.""

I'm enjoying my hummus right now, its just as good as the store bought and so much cheaper to make! I'm so excited to try adding different flavors to it. I just added one pickled and one fresh jalapeno to about a cup of the hummus and put it in the food processor and having it with some carrot spears. Yum! Next time I'd probably add more jalapen...

Tasty! I love cilantro so I had to make this. I did do a few things differently:
1. Instead of kosher salt I used a tablespoon of chicken flavor bouillon. (rice was just right, not too salty)
2. I used 2 seeded serrano chiles (the rice wasn't spicy at all, next time for a spicy variation I'll probably use at least 4 and/or keep...

So tasty, I couldn't get enough of these. I added walnuts which added a pleasant crunch. They were a bit crunch on the outside and chewy on the inside, just right. Instead of using all purpose flour only I used about 1/4 whole wheat flour. The cookie was still yummy.

This was SO delicious! It is such a simple recipe but the flavor is just right. The time spent making the broth was well worth it. In a pinch I suppose you can use store bought broth but I don't think it would be as tasty and rewarding. Awesome recipe, I can't wait to make it again.
