Reviewed Seared and Carved Beef Tenderloin with Herb Quinoa, Poached Leeks and Wild Mushroom Reduction

Nov 18, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I only made the quinoa. My previous attempts and making quinoa have been disappointing. I made this following the recipe to the T and it was outstanding. This will be my go to quinoa recipe."

Reviewed Foil Wrapped Side of Salmon with Lemon and Rosemary

Nov 18, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very good, and a very simple lazy Sunday dinner. I would've liked more lemon, but I really like citrus and don't care too much for fish. Next time I might squeeze some extra lemon on my portion. I also subbed dill for the rosemary, baked it for 25 minutes and served it with Emeril's Herb Quinoa. "

Excellent! I took the advice of some of the other reviewers and added spinach, an extra can of beans and didn't add the noodles to the pot. I don't like kidney beans, so I used pintos. I substituted zucchini and yellow squash in place of the green beans. I also added some cooked meatballs, quartered, during the last 5 minutes of cooking. "

Reviewed Grilled Salmon with Sweet Corn, Tomato and Avocado Relish, and Grilled Asparagus

Jun 23, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

So, so, so good! I only had skinless salmon so I broiled it and sauteed the asparagus. I added jalapeno to the relish (I also omitted the olive oil). This was a fantastic summer dinner, we're going to serve it the next time my in-laws come over! My hubby literally cleaned his plate and went back for seconds. We're going to finish off the the lefto"

Reviewed Chicken Pot Pie Soup

Apr 4, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was good soup, my hubby really enjoyed it. I made a few changes to suit my taste. The potatoes definitely had to cook longer than the 15 minutes suggested.

Sauteed diced carrots with the celery and onions in 1/2 cup butter with a bit of olive oil.
I don't like Italian Seasoning so I used parsley, tarragon, marjoram,...

Excellent! We used it as a dipping sauce for a Philly Cheesesteak Pizza. It was the perfect compliment for a sauceless, extremely cheesy pizza. ""

Reviewed Pasta with Pancetta and Tomato Sauce

Feb 19, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was really good, my hubby loved it. I substituted bacon for the pancetta since I didn't have any. I made sure to drain the pan after sauteing the onions. I don't know how much grease pancetta has as opposed to bacon, but draining would've been a good step to add to the directions.""

This was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised with this recipe. The other Aaron McCargo recipes I have tried have not tasted as good as they look/sound, but these were very good. Next time I think I will just add avocado to the salsa since I make my own anyway.""

Reviewed Creme Brulee

Jan 1, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I was surprised at how easy this was. We made it as a NYE dessert; it was my first attempt at creme brulee and it was fabulous. We couldn't taste the orange too much, but I used Cointreau instead of the Grand Marnier because that was what we had. I will definitely be making it again.""

Reviewed Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil Bruschetta

Jan 1, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

We made these as a NYE appetizer. They are awesome. Instead of rubbing the bread slices with the garlic I just added extra to the tomato mixture. I was skeptical about making a bruschetta with canned tomatoes but these were excellent! We are making a pizza out out the leftover tomato.""

We've made this twice for NYE 2010 and 2011. Last year's batch was kind of bitter. It wasn't bad, just bitter. This year I cut all the peel off of the citrus fruits and it made a HUGE difference. It's a really yummy easy recipe.""

Excellent recipe! I used beef stew meat instead and it still came out great. Love the salsa. It's different in a good way. Definitely a keeper!""

Fantastic! I completely stuck to the recipe except for the Gruyere. I couldn't find shredded Gruyere or Swiss (and wasn't about to shred it myself!) so I used (cheaper!) Swiss cheese slices. So yummy definitely a keeper!""

Reviewed Orange Chicken Fingers

Sep 29, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were awesome! I didn't stick to the "healthy" ingredients. I used a whole egg instead of egg whites and regular marmalade instead of sugar-free. I was surprised at how tender and flavorful the chicken was without tenderizer or marinade. I didn't make the salad though. I'll definitely make these again. :)""

Yummy!! I used a rotisserie chicken instead of poaching it. But I did add the parsley, thyme, dill, and lemon from the Poached Chicken recipe to the soup broth. It came out really, really well!! Will definitely make this again!""

These were excellent! We changed the recipe just a little bit. We sauteed the veggies only since everything would cook in the deep fryer anyway. At some of the other reviewers suggestion we made a horseradish dipping sauce (we recommend Al...

Reviewed Almost-Famous Broccoli-Cheddar Soup

Nov 27, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

Very yummy! I do not like broccoli cheddar soup, but my fiance does. I thought it came out excellent! I used veggie bouillion instead of chicken flavored. I like my soup a little chunky so I didn't puree it. Cook the broccoli and carrots and extra 10 minutes to get rid of the "grainy" texture another reviewer mentioned. I also all white cheddar because...
