My Activity

Reviewed Braised Pork Shoulder

"Loved it! I left out the fennel because I am not a fan of that flavor, and it was awesome. I made a double batch to have sandwiches the next day, but there were no leftovers. Served with mashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts. Very comforting and affordable dish. I love making pork shoulder and have tried many different recipes - this is by f"

Reviewed Tuna Croquette

"Very good. Crunchy, and like other reviews said very subtle tuna taste. I also substituted canned tuna because we keep it stocked. Doubled the recipe and it was just enough for 2 adults and one kid for dinner. Works equally well with canned salmon. ""

Reviewed Butternut Squash and Pork Lasagna

"Very yummy. I am not a fan of either butternut squash or spinach and I loved this dish. The flavors come together beautifully. I think it is the ragu that makes it. I used mild italian sausage instead of pork and it gave the lasagna a great extra boost of spice. Even my three year old cleaned his plate. ""

Reviewed Mom's Meatloaf

"Really good, perfect when you're craving that basic, old school meatloaf and gravy. The gravy really makes this recipe. The only change I made was to lightly saute the onion and green pepper in a little butter before adding. I think that it mellows and melds the flavors better.""

Reviewed Excellent Meatballs

"Sooo Yummy! The meatballs are incredibly tender and flavorful. Everyone I have served this to now uses this as their go-to meatball recipe. I skip the veal and just use half beef half pork. I've finished them in both the oven (as the recipe calls for) and in the sauce. Excellent both ways. The key is the quick browning/fry in the pan to really sea"

Reviewed Chicken, Sausage and Peppers

"Very good. I used mild cherry peppers and sweet italian sausage to keep the heat down for a toddler. I recommend chopping the cherry peppers small because to bite into one can pack quite a punch. I also used chicken stock in place of wine as I was out. The recipe makes a good amount of sauce that thickens up nicely, perfect served over rice or mas"

Reviewed Shepherd's Pie

"Wow, this was delicious. I've tried several different Shepard's pie recipes and this was by far the best. Anne is quickly becoming my go-to chef. Don't substitute beef, the bite-size pieces of lamb make this dish. Very rich, flavorful and comforting. I substituted Guiness for the wine (which was a great accompaniment as well!) to give the meal a more pub-y feel. "

Reviewed Fried Rice with Peas and Carrots

"Delicious, easy basic fried rice recipe. I followed other reviewers and cut the ginger by half and it worked out perfect. The rice was very flavorful even before the stir fry. This is a great, quick go-to rice recipe. My two year old (who is VERY picky) loved it and ate almost two bowls.
