My Activity

Reviewed Quick Cottage Cheese

"I made this 3x so far. I used whole goat milk, because we farm goats. But the same process works. If the milk is not hot enough (you can go up to boiling it then you get low yield, and post silly add-ons like - and then I made ricotta cheese with all the protein I didn't use in my first 1/2 cup of cottage cheese that I made. It makes about 2 cups.""

Reviewed Chicken in Creamy Tomato Curry: Chicken Tikka Masala

"This recipe was a smash hit with my large family (6 kids, 13 & under. We are cow milk allergic, so we substituted canned evaporated goat milk for the cream, and goat milk yogurt for the regular yogurt. It was a smash hit. I also used my canned roma tomatoes from our garden this past summer, because we're in upstae NY and it's snowing. I didn't want to go 30 minutes to the store, so thanks for the tip that canned would work well too. I subbed chicken breasts because I had frozen ones, and the marinade made them nice and tender and not dry at all. I had the leftovers for breakfast. Now it's not the cure, solution for world peace, but you know, even my nursing 4 month old seemed more interested in nursing after dinner. He must like Indian spices, just like his siblings liked Thai food coming through in mother's milk when they were babies."

Reviewed Cauliflower and Potatoes: "Aloo Gobi"

"With six children, 13 and under - I love to find new veggie recipes. It was a smash hit, and Aarti's the inspiration. My internet server went down for 2 hours. But I remembered the g&g paste- used ground cumin, coriander, turmeric powder, and 1/4 cup finely minced onion, browned it all in oil, then added water. I added 2 bags of thawed, frozen cauliflower, ~3 sliced, peeled potatoes, salt & water. I let it steam , adjusted salt, added 1/2 cup of frozen peas, warmed those through, and served it with the chicken and rice. The children loved it. My kids are young, no hot pepper for us. If you don't think it's spicy enough, then perhaps you need to double the seasoning and add a bit more salt, because vegetable sizes vary. My children really liked it! Thanks Aarti. I watched this episode on my DVR list, twice, so that I could at least prepare the recipe properly, to get the gist of the recipe after the internet server went down."
