"Made this for dinner tonight with the following modifications: added an extra sprig of thyme, reduced wine to 1/2 to 2/3 cups instead of the full cup, used only one quart of stock instead of two. I found the cooking times to be fairly accurate as long as I was cooking at the recommended temps. Excellent flavor and will definitely make this again?""

"just made this frosting for a red velvet cake, and i swear i'll never buy canned frosting ever again. this whipped up quickly, and the flavor is divine! doubled the recipe, and had plenty to ice a 2 layer, 9 inch cake."
