Reviewed smoked ribs with carolina-style bbq sauce

Aug 11, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Love this recipe and often use the sauce on it's own to go with smoked pork and brisket. It does have a little bit of a kick to it - as one would expect since it includes chipotle peppers. I add extra of the adobo sauce to increase the spice, but you can easily cut back on the spice if needed. As well, it's a Carolina style sauce, so the mustard...

I have one just like it - it's the Borner 'Combi-Chef' by Swissmar.

Reviewed chipotle and rosemary roasted nuts

Apr 16, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

These are dangerous! Really easy to adapt to the types of nuts you prefer, and the perfect balance of sweet, spicy & savory. Made a batch to take for a weekend getaway with friends, and can't stop snacking on them each time I pass through the kitchen!

Reviewed Herb Roasted Turkey Breast with Pan Gravy

Dec 9, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

Really happy with how this turned out. Loved the flavor of the herbs and a great way to not only speed up getting Thanksgiving on the table but, because you're just using the breast, delivers a more consistent and moist turkey (not the normal overcooked breast and just cooked legs and thighs). The herb really added a bright flavor that everyone...

Reviewed Spicy Turkey and Green Bean Stir-Fry

Dec 2, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

This was, at best, boring. There was little flavor, the long beans with the ground turkey made it hard to plate up. The bean to turkey ratio seemed off - too many beans. The sugar was completely unnecessary on the beans. I kept looking to see if I missed some ingredients somewhere, because it was SO bland. I was going to give it one star, but...

Reviewed Lentil Sausage Soup

Nov 23, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

One of the best fall/winter soup recipes and a family favorite. Perfect as is, but can easily adapt to what you have on hand - I often add bell peppers and a healthy amount of kale and always use turkey kielbasa. This makes a HUGE pot and, thankfully for our small family, freezes very well. Hearty, nutritious and so tasty!

Made this, the first time, with 4 other sauces to serve at a party with smoked pork - ran out of this one before the others were even 1/3 of the way gone. . .This has turned into my go-to recipe; it's easy, quick, and uses ingredients that I normally have on hand. It is easy to adjust the spice by using more, or less, of the chipotles. Outstandi"

I love this recipe. I think that the 1 TBSP of salt has to be a typo; start with a teaspoon and then add more to taste. The soup is great as-is, but I have found that this is also very flexible to use as a base recipe - I add other veggies that I have (mushrooms, red bell peppers, etc), beans, sausage (often the pre-cooked kind that I can just s"

Reviewed Cast Iron Skillet Corn Bread

Dec 12, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Wow! I think this is the best cornbread I have ever made! I really liked the flavor of the buttermilk and the texture of the cornmeal made for an amazing texture. I must admit I often use a box mix, only because other recipes aren't much better than what you can get from a decent mix. Never again; there's no going back after this!"

Just made this for the second time in 2 weeks, and it turned out great both times! I couldn't find any great papayas or mangos either time, so I used raspberries and they worked well. I did have to bake the cake for 5 minutes longer, but I think that was because of the baking dish I used. I poked holes, as other reviewers recommended, and the r"

Mar 21, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Loved, Loved, LOVED this cake! This is not a sweet cake, by any means. Do not make this cake if you are wanting and over-flavored, super-sweet typical American-style cake. If you are looking for a much more traditional, dense, moist cake, this is the cake for you. This cake reminds me a lot of the types of cakes I have had in Europe - good, c...

I've been making this soup for a few years and made it again tonight as my first soup of the fall season and it did not disappoint. I used ground turkey for the meatballs (my preference), and a 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes (what I had), and it turned out great. This is why I LOVE so many of Rachael's recipes; you can adjust easily to what you ...

Feb 21, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Great basic recipe and so fast, I can already tell this will be a regular 'go-to' weeknight meal; even my SUPER picky 9 yr-old loved it. I used a chicken & mozzarella stuffed ravioli which worked really well, and, as the prosciutto and garlic was starting to stick, I deglazed with a little white wine, which added a really nice extra layer of fla...

Reviewed Chicken, Chorizo and Tortilla Stoup (Stew-like Soup

Nov 22, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

Another home-run Rachael!!! This was the perfect end to a cold, stormy fall day - a hot, steamy bowl of stoup with SOOOO much flavor. I questioned the recipe because there are no added herbs or spices, but I made sure to buy a good quality chorizo and it added just the right boost (along with the smokieness of the fire roasted tomatoes). I put...
