About Me
My recent history of cooking...
I don't think I have natural instincts when it comes to cooking. So in 2009 I bought my first cookbook-a cookbook for Persian cuisine to learn how to cook the food my husband loves. I pulled off the dishes well-to my surprise. Then I was browsing the book section in Costco (I wasn't really looking for a cookbook), but I stumbled upon Rocco Dispirito's "Now Eat This!"-150 of America's Favorite Comfort Foods-All Under 350 Calories. This cookbook was fascinating to me because it had low calorie versions of 1000 calorie dishes. I made it a point to try a new recipe often. Then I decided I needed a cookbook with more pictures and found the Cooking Light, "Cooking through the Seasons", an everyday guide to enjoying the freshest food. This had pictures on every page as well as little tips on how to prepare some of the fruits and vegetables that were in season.
FINALLY-I discovered the Food Network Channel. I knew about it, but I never watched it. I started watching it because I was at Target and I noticed the product line of Giada De Laurentiis. I had no idea who she was and found out that she had a show on the Food Network. After I watched the first show, I was very impressed. I love the style of her show and thanks to her, I have now gone on a shopping spree and bought all sorts of kitchen appliances and gadgets.
So here I am now-a Food Network fan, recording all sorts of programs and trying out new recipes! Thanks Food Network!
