Reviewed Spaghetti with Turkey Meatballs
"The sauce is a winner! Nice consistency with a kick, I'll certainly make again. Since there were no directions for making the sauce, I sauteed the garlic and olive oil, added the crushed red pepper and then the pureed tomatoes. I had some roasted red peppers, so I pureed them, and added them in the sauce too. I did not make the turkey meatballs us""
Reviewed White Chicken Chili
"Another great recipe! My hubby has been talking about how he'd like some white chicken chili, ever since the food service at his office made some. I've always made the traditional chili con carne, so I had to check out a few recipes for white chicken chili. I also had a challenge because while I love heat, my hubby likes dishes much milder, and I ""
Reviewed Cocoa Brownies
"Super-dense, fudgey, chocolatey brownie! Had some friends over last night, so I decided to make something easy, that would let me break in my new stand mixer. Wow! The brownies did take 55-58 minutes to bake, but it was worth it! The only thing that would have made it better was vanilla ice cream on top! These are rich, and I'm glad I added the to""

Reviewed Spicy Black Beans and Yellow Rice
"I was hoping that the black beans would actually be spicy...and while they had a bit of a kick, they weren't my kind of spicy. I forgot to put the bay leaf in the rice, but that actually worked out. I put a tbsp of the tumeric and stirred it really well before the rice started to boil. I used brown rice and it seemed to come out well...I was hopin"
Reviewed Lentil Soup
"Made this last night. Hubby raved about it and I didn't get a chance to taste it myself until today. I used only 1 tsp of kosher salt and upped the cumin to 1 tsp and used 1/2 tsp of paprika. Didn't puree the beans. Was perfect, as is. Will certainly make this again. Perfect antidote to cold weather.
Reviewed Simply Delicious Strawberry Cake
"Made this cake as one of the desserts following Christmas dinner. It was so fragrant while baking, and super easy to make. I put parchment paper on the cooling racks, as some reviewers noted how the cake stuck to the cooling racks. I followed the reviews and only used about 4 cups of powdered sugar for the icing (and still had about a cup of icing left over). This is a super-moist, dense, super-sweet dessert that rivals most strawberry cakes at any bakery. If you don't want the icing to be so runny, you have to not add as much of the pureed strawberries, or don't puree all of the strawberries and add them sliced/whole, otherwise, the icing is almost more like glaze than icing (even when refrigerated).
