Reviewed Pecan Bars

"I used 1/3 cup of corn syrup, recipe doesnt specify. Also, the directions arent very clear about when the crust and topping should be done. Since both are brown/golden to begin with, it is hard to determine when they are golden, which means they are done. I baked the crust until it set and didnt look raw anymore. The topping is done when everything is completely level and looks set. Wish the directions were more clear. I had to do everything by hand which takes some time. Bars were delicious though!

Reviewed Good Eats Roast Turkey

"Turned out amazing! I didnt use the candied ginger. I only brined a 13 pound turkey for 8 hours and it had tons of flavor. Im not sure that it was thawed all of the way when I put it in the brine, doesnt seem to matter. After turning the heat down to 350, I noticed that the temperature of the breast was climbing at a really fast rate, so I turned it down to 325. My family said they have never had a turkey with so much flavor. I deglazed the bottom of the roaster with chicken stock and made a gravy with cornstarch. So tasty! I plan on doing this again next year, but brining for a longer period of time. Thanks Alton!
