"These were good, but most of the dumplings did dissolve into the broth. However, I've always preferred the dish creamy, so I didn't necessarily mind (plus this may have been a result of how long I had to cook them - read on. "Delicious au jus. I used a 3.5 lb. pot roast, which I cooked with carrots and onions and ate with mashed potatoes. But it could just have easily made a wonderful French dip sandwich with fries or slaw. The marinade did wonders to the carrots in particular. I'll be making this again, most likely many times.
