Reviewed Sloppy Bombay Joes

"I really loved the idea of this but it just didn't work for me (though my husband liked it); I'm going to make a few modifications and try it again.

Reasons I didn't like it:
Not enough spices. There are really just a few teaspoons of spices for a pan's worth of filling. I prefer my indian style dishes to incorporate more intense flavors.

Vegetables were overcooked. You start the onions and vegetables well ahead of the meat so, by the time the meat is cooked, the green peppers are mush.

Raisins were greasy. Why not just add them to the sauce to plump? In the recipe you add them to oil--which just made them oily. I'd prefer they be stewed in the sauce to add more flavor.
