Reviewed pecan-stuffed chicken breast

Jan 11, 2015 on

This was really good! It definitely took some time to prepare, so it's not necessarily something I'll make all the time - but I will make this again for sure! It was very flavorful. The sauce does thicken up on its own; you just need to let it simmer on medium to medium high and let it reduce for about 10 minutes.

Reviewed marinara sauce

Jul 20, 2014 on

This was delicious! I was a little hesitant to make this because I've spent time and effort on other recipes in the past, only to wind up with bland sauce that's not any different from sauce you can buy in a jar. But this was very good! I used a larger onion, 4 cloves of garlic (instead of 1 because we like garlic), and I added some chicken stock...

Reviewed gott's roadside tray gourmet (formerly taylor's automatic refresher)

May 17, 2014 on

My husband and I were in Napa to celebrate my birthday, and a few of the locals recommended Gott's (and the fact that it had been featured on DDD - that was enough to convince me to make a stop!). I got a cheeseburger, fries, and the white pistachio milkshake...everything was SO good! I can't tell you the last time I had a cheeseburger, fries, OR...

Reviewed Homemade Mango-Agave Granola with Greek Yogurt

Jul 17, 2013 in Recipes on Cooking Channel

Just made this for the first time, and it turned out great. The only thing I'd do differently next time is take it out of the oven a few minutes earlier - I baked it for 25 min and it was just a TAD browner than I would've liked. Overall a very good recipe and not overly sweet (like some granolas can be)."

Reviewed Spinach Salad with Sweet Roasted Pecans and Gorgonzola with Sherry Shallot Vinaigrette

I really wanted to like this, but the dressing was NOT GOOD. Two shallots?! The shallots dominated the dressing to where they were all you could taste."

Reviewed Scalloped Potato Gratin

Apr 2, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

Delicious! I just made this for Easter, and one of our friends said these were some of the best scalloped potatoes he's ever had. I poured half of the potatoes into the baking dish, added some shredded gruyere, then the second half of the potatoes, and finished it off with some gruyere on top. Other than that, I followed the recipe exactly. MAKE"

Reviewed Rack of Lamb with Mint-Basil Pesto

Apr 2, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

The pesto was great - everyone said how well it complemented the lamb. The cooking time for the lamb was MUCH longer than the recipe indicates, which is why I didn't give it all five stars. I seared the meat before I put it into the oven and cooked it as stated in the recipe, so I'm not sure why it took almost twice as long as it should have. But "

Reviewed Rich Roasted Tomato Soup

Jan 22, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

This was surprisingly rich considering that the recipe didn't call for a ton of ingredients. Roasting the tomatoes did take some time, but it's not like it was labor intensive, and it was well worth the wait. While the soup was pretty flavorful, I did feel that something was missing. I found myself adding a lot of salt at the end, but there was st"

Reviewed Quick Croque Madames

This was delicious! The sour cream/dijon mustard sauce added a little something extra that made the sandwich extra rich and creamy. And it was so easy to make! I will definitely make this again."

Reviewed Crostini with Sun-Dried Tomato Jam

Jan 8, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

I've made this recipe more times than I can count, and it always turns out great! It's so easy to make and is always delicious. Definitely a tried and true recipe!"

Reviewed Beatty's Chocolate Cake

Jan 8, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

I'm not a big fan of chocolate cake, but I made this cake for my husband's birthday, as it's his favorite. This was delicious!! The cake was very moist, and I think the coffee really helped with depth of flavor. This will be my go-to chocolate cake recipe in the future!"

Reviewed Broiled Halibut with Bechamel Sauce

Jul 13, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

This was delicious! I don't like halibut, so I substituted tilapia instead and it turned out great. The sauce was so rich that I didn't add the extra parmesan before broiling. I will definitely be making this again!"
