My Activity

Reviewed Sugar Cookies

"They hold together beautifully but they taste like flour. I followed every step and measured carefully as I always do when trying a new recipe. I am very disappointed because it takes some work to make sugar cookies and now I have to start over with a new recipe.

Reviewed Wonderful White Bread

"This is a good recipe for basic white bread. It is a sticky dough so I used about 1/3 C of flour as I kneaded until it reached the stage that I felt comfortable with. I used regular yeast since I didn't have rapid rise and just allowed it to rise for 90 minutes on the first stage, then about 40 minutes on the final rise.
I always use bread flour and it's still light enough to use as sandwich bread. Someone else said that the bread is too salty. Since table salt grains are smaller use a bit less salt or use kosher salt. It does make a difference.
I did not put a water pan in the oven and it still has a crisp, thin crust, just as it should. I'll use this as my go-to recipe for sandwich bread.
