I simmered some ham hocks and used the meat in place of the ham in this recipe. It was to die for as the smoky ham has so much more flavor than just regular ham. This will be a great recipe for St. Patty's Day."

I'm thinking about making this recipe for St. Patty's Day. Has anyone ever tried making this as a meal-in-one by replacing the bacon with the meat from ham hocks that have been simmered for a few hours? Just thinking about it, makes my mouth water -- can't wait for St. Patty's Day!!! "
