Reviewed braised beef brisket

May 24, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Perfectly tender, great flavor - I used Ree's recipe with the low-salt version of soy sauce and a little over 12 pounds of beef brisket for 8 hours in the 300 degree oven -- it was perfectly cooked - tender and easy to shred. The meat was not overly salty -- I used a gravy separator and was able to separate the oil from the marinade. I used several...

I didn't care for this -- it seems like too much rice vinegar came thru. I might try it with either less rice vinegar or maybe just completely omit that one ingredient. I still love you, Alton!!"

Reviewed Mexican Pot Roast Tacos

Aug 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this recipe per the instructions on the web site stated -- and it came out very good. Even though the sauce was a tad too spicy hot, it didn't affect the meat. In fact, I used that as a sauce for the taco instead of making the one described on the show. Next time I will reduce the cayenne to a tsp, add a little taco seasoning and I wil...

This is outstanding. The caramel with the Maldon salt flakes make an absolutely delicious flavor for this ice cream. I toasted pecans and sprinkled a little salt over them to use as a garnish for this ice cream. It went great with a cup of coffee. Easy to make and way too easy to eat! One thing I have learned from cooking shows and personal i"

Made these today for barbequed chicken tacos -- easy to make and soooooo much better than store-bought! I don't understand Patti Poo Poo's comments about how ridiculous these are to make or that even most of Guys' recipes are. Why is it stupid to make your own tortillas? Is it stupid to bake a pie or make your own ice cream if you can just buy "

This was fabulous! I had all of the ingredients including frozen fresh corn from last Sept. and fresh thyme from the garden. I did omit the pasta since it would be a tad too heavy with the overall meal of tri tip and baked potatoes. It was so much better than just plain corn. Everyone loved it! I will make it as a one-dish meal using the fett"

I completely agree with other comments-- hardly anyone on any of the cooking shows (check DDD!!) gives out every secret. I wouldn't either! Think about it -- these BBQ/smoking pros aren't going to give out their secrets. It just so happens that I just got done smoking a pork butt some 12 hours yesterday -- after several days of research and pr"

I made this just with chicken thighs -- it was incredible. The chicken was tender and loaded with flavor. I love using whole cumin seeds and the chile flakes gave just the right amount of heat. I also made the cabbage and a brown rice with home made chicken stock, a little vegetable paste for taste and a mild curry. So, all three were a nice com"

This cheesecake tuned out great - very light and fluffy. I added approx 8 min to the cooking time. The whipped cream was to die for -- I used a pint of heavy cream and doubled the rest of the ingredients. It was fluffy and firm -- held up perfectly. Thank you for this awesome recipe!
