Reviewed Roasted Tomato Basil Soup

Sep 18, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Easy - although it took a bit under 2 hours from beginning to end. I don't have a food mill and used a blender instead, so I peeled the roasted tomatoes before adding to the soup pot, assuming correctly that the blender wouldn't be able to break up the roasted skins very well. (Peeling was easy.) Nice soup for a cold evening. I would make this"

Reviewed Whipped Potatoes

Dec 6, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is my GOLD standard for whipped potatoes, excuse the pun! Best texture & flavor ever! I followed the recipe to the "T" and the potatoes came out perfectly. I do not own a ricer, so I used the old flat-bottomed masher I've always used & that worked out just fine to eliminate any lumps prior to whipping. While whipping, I slowly poured"

Normally I don't need to change anything by Ina, but this recipe disappointed me. I will make it again, but with numerous adjustments. I found I needed twice the amount of water and time to cook the wheatberries to the desired doneness. I also found two TBL of balsamic was over the top. So, the adjustments I will make next time will be:

LOVED this! I've only recently started to learn more about Indian food, and when I saw this segment, I thought this would be good one to try. This is delicious & I think even those folks who swear they "do not like Indian food" will like this. I had to work around some of the ingredients since I couldn't find one or two of them. Also, some of "

May 8, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I prepared this the day before serving, save for the avocados that I gently tossed in right before serving. I will definitely make this again, as it is a very healthy and fresh-tasting way to get beans and veggies into your meal. (I can't recall as I write this if there is lime zest used in the recipe here, but I added it myself and it was a per"

May 8, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I used this recipe for fish preparation only. (Did not prepare the cabbage.) The fish came out FANTASTIC!!!! My guests asked for the recipe, they liked it so much. I used combo of tilapia and cod as those were the most cost-effective choices at my market. The fish was flavorful and flaky and perfect for tacos. I will definitely make this aga"

Reviewed Black Cherry and Black Pepper Lamb Chops with Sweet Pea Risotto

May 8, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I prepared only the Sweet Pea Risotto part of this meal. Unless you have a commercial stove in your kitchen, there is no way this risotto takes only 22 minutes...it took much longer and I watched it constantly. Be sure to have more than a quart of broth available 'just in case'...I used the entire quart and wished I had a little more to make it c"

Jan 29, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I've attempted braised lamb shanks before, and NONE came out as wonderful as Anne's recipe. I happened to have seen the episode on the air, and made it right after while the video was fresh in my head. This is so fragrant, tasty, easy! Note: The recipe here doesn't mention how Anne tied the Lamb Shanks before browning - it helps to tie the sha...

quite good and very to make simple. Next time I will use only the pasta water rather than pasta water pluc the 1/2 can of water...both made it too liquidy. (I doctored up with some tomato paste...) I noticed in another review mention that the bay leaves were omitted from the recipe online. In the episode she mentions adding two bay leaves or a...

I can't believe I've not written a review yet for this go-to recipe. I make this often and love it. LIke other reviewers, I was skeptical about the combination of scallops and chorizo, but I'm so pleased I tried ti anyway. I love this dish plus it is so easy to make, and you end up with a filling yet light dish with a beautiful light sauce when...

I make this over and over and over again. The leftovers (if you ever have any) are great tossed with a penne or other tubular-type pasta the next day. (Mmmmm oriechette would be great! I'll have to try that next). I've passed this around to many over the past 4 years - I love this recipe!

I think Bobbie is onto something. I made this 'to the letter' and it was delicious. The next several times I made it, I used lo-fat mayo and amped up the lemon zest-that made it perfection for me. (Note: This preparation does not freeze well. This also tastes very good cold - I'll slice leftovers;toss with romaine/baby arugula salad;olive oil/lemon...

Love this recipe - the only thing I would change next time I make it would be to use less olive oil - maybe 1/8 cup rather than 1/4. Otherwise, don't 'mess' with this one - it is very nearly perfect!
