Reviewed Herbed Quinoa
"Wonderful recipe! I made Giada's grilled salmon with salsa verde along with this side dish and it was very tasty! After reading some of the reviews, I, too, decided to reduce the amount of lemon (though I love lemon) since it was my 1st time making this and I was serving it to extended family (and didn't know how "lemon-y" the end result would b"
Reviewed Chicken Cacciatore
"Very tasty and moist. The only changes I made were to use chicken breast instead of bone-in and frozen tri-color peppers because that's what I had on hand. The only downside, in my opinion, is that it's not a quick dish to make during the week; takes more prep time but often, you have to prep food in order to stay away from junk food!"
Reviewed Beet and Goat Cheese Arugula Salad
"A yummy salad! I roasted the beets plain (I hadn't read the directions 1st, only made sure I had all of the ingredients) and tossed everything together except for the avocado...we like avocado but I wasn't sure how it'd taste in this preparation...we didn't miss it, though, and there are plenty of other ingredients and textures to make a nice, ba"
Reviewed Tiramisu
"This is excellent! I've been making this recipes for years now and bring it to our friends' annual Xmas Eve party...they now call me "tiramiSUE" (Sue's my name!). We/They look forward to eating it every year and I always get compliments, even from their pastry chef relative. Recently, I switched it up and omitted the marsala and espresso and ma"
Reviewed Individual Strawberry Shortcakes
"Yummy! I gave them only 4 stars because mine did not rise for some reason...not sure if that's my fault, though, it may be...I used 1 cup of whole wheat pastry flour plus 1 cup white flour and heavy cream instead of 1/2 and 1/2. The taste is really good, though, so I don't mind that they didn't rise so much. Hopefully they will last for tomorro"
Reviewed Chocolate Cupcakes and Peanut Butter Icing
"OMG! So far, I've only made the peanut butter icing and it was FABULOUS!! If you are a peanut butter lover, you will love this icing. It's very peanut butter-y and I can't wait to try the chocolate cupcakes with it. The only changes were I halved the amount of sugar to 1/2 cup and used real vanilla bean rather than extract because I ran out and"
Reviewed Red Wine and Wild Mushroom Sauce
"Absolutely delicious! I made several changes to this sauce and it turned out wonderfully on top of our filet mignon!! I melted ¼ cup (1/2 stick) of butter, then added in white button mushrooms, chopped scallions and 3-4 minced garlic cloves. Sauteed all with a little salt and black pepper until mushrooms were soft. Added dried thyme and red win"
Reviewed Middle Eastern Vegetable Salad
"A fantastic salad!! Very fresh, refreshing and a ton of flavor. Makes a beautiful presentation. A couple of changes made: I omitted the tomatoes (didn't have any) and added in thinly sliced purple onion. It has lots of fresh herbs, with a burst of flavor from the mint and would be great as a dinner salad, a side salad or easy for a potluck. Because of the salt in the feta, next time, I'd probably add in 1/2 the salt to the dressing and then add it back in, if necessary, after tasting it. It was very flavorful, though (I'm probably a little more sensitive to salt than the average person). I baked my pita chips with salt/pepper, oregano, basil, onion powder and garlic powder. Delicious! Can't get much better than this : )
