My Activity

Reviewed Slow Cooker Sausage, Bean and Pasta Stew

"I am very happy with this recipe. It was easy to prep for the slow cooker, and the flavor of the dish was also very good. It had a depth of flavor from the thyme bouquet and the parm rind. Be sure to use both of these when making. I could not find Italian sausage links at my grocery store; I live in a small town, and we only have Wal-Mart and "

Reviewed Good Eats Meatloaf

"I thought that the meatloaf was good, a C+, (I'd give it 2.5 if I could), but I did not find it to be the cosmic experience described in other reviews. Like others, my meatloaf took 1.5 hours at 325 degrees (not 45 mins) to reach 155 degrees internal temp. I don't know why this is. I think that the extended cooking time caused the meatloaf to b""

Reviewed Pot Roast

"I was very happy with how this pot roast turned out. I followed many of the suggestions found in other reviews:
1. I used Kitchen Basics Beef Broth in place of the water and boullion cubes. I always use this brand; it has good, rich flavor and lower sodium;

Reviewed Pan Seared Salmon with Citrus Vinegar Glaze and Green Beans

"This is a delicious dish. I also had difficulty with thickening the glaze, and I did add cornstarch as was suggested in an earlier review. I will practice this part. I let it boil/rapid simmer for 10 minutes; however, I was still not satisfied with the consistency. The salmon was great! I really enjoyed the char-broiled or charcoal grilled fl"

Reviewed Beef Bourguignon

"I enjoyed making this recipe; after reading the reviews, however, I was expecting a mind-blowing dinner experience. While the stew was very tasty and quite flavorful, I am not sure that the amount of time spent on the dish was commensurate with the results. I did read the other reviews of the dish before beginning and I: (1 put in less salt than the recipe called for -- just 2 teaspoons; and (2 I followed the advice re: melting the butter in a separate saucepan and whisking in the flour. I incorporated 2 batches of this rue. I also had the stew in the oven for almost 3 hours based upon others' advice.

Overall, I enjoyed the stew and the process, but I will think twice before making again because this stew monopolized my late afternoon and evening.

A good lazy, Sunday afternoon project.
