This is really not what most people think of Queso. In Detroit this is called flaming cheese and is very popular. I have also wondered what type of Mexican cheese they used for years. I just got a proctor silex 1.5 quart mini slow cooker and it was perfect. I hate my large Rival cooker because it cooks way too fast. Nice to wake up with a hot breakfast but it serves more like 6. Next time I will halve the recipe. All the burned ratings it is your cookers fault. I also add a little honey(skipped figs) before bed and in the morning...
