Very salty. I added more dill than asked. Other than too much salt, it was good. After the initial curing, I drained off most of the brine and added new brine w/o the salt (and more dill). We like the smell and taste of dill. If I make these again, I will cut the salt in the brine in half and see what happens."

I've made something very similar to this for years. It always goes over very well. I use pecans on the crust instead of walnuts; cream, whipped instead of the Cool Whip; and not as much confectioners sugar. For extra color at Christmas I will top with a dollop of whipped cream and a red cherry. It looks very festive."

This is a very good desert. I've made it for years and it is always a hit. I like to double the chocolate layer and the cream cheese layer. You can also change the flavor of pudding you use. Pistachio is great for Christmas with a red maraschino cherry for color. I prefer to use real cream instead of the whipped topping."

Our family has made this recipe for years. It is excellent. The only difference is that I usually add chopped onions and instead of the American Cheese, we add 4-8 oz of cream cheese. I will often substitute leftover turkey or baked chicken leftovers. It doesn't need to be breast meat. Very yummy and easy."
