Reviewed Oatmeal-Chocolate Chip Cookies With Almonds

Mar 10, 2014 in on

After toasting the almonds, I threw them in the small food processor and chopped them."

Reviewed Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Mar 1, 2014 in on

It';s very good, but loaded with fat and cholesterol. Need to find a way to reduce those elements and it will be even better. Maybe adding a vegetable like broccoli in and using greek yogurt instead of the sour cream and reducing the cheese."

Reviewed Avocado Mayonnaise Spread

Feb 8, 2014 in on

Because of the health benefits, I am trying to learn to like avocados. This isn';t a bad mayo substitute. I could taste the freshness of the lime. Will make it again."

Reviewed Old Fashioned Slow Cooker Rice Pudding

Feb 5, 2014 in on

Thought it was very good. I only used half of the sugar called for and added vanilla extract and raisins."

Reviewed The Best Peanut Butter-Oatmeal Cookies

Dec 16, 2013 in on

Very good cookies and very easy to make. Will definitely make again. These were part of my Christmas cookie plate this year."

Reviewed Cadillac Refrigerator Pickles

Sep 21, 2013 in on

Very salty. I added more dill than asked. Other than too much salt, it was good. After the initial curing, I drained off most of the brine and added new brine w/o the salt (and more dill). We like the smell and taste of dill. If I make these again, I will cut the salt in the brine in half and see what happens."

Reviewed Peppers Stuffed With Broccoli, Beans and Rice

Nov 17, 2012 in on

Good and easy. Quick. I used black beans instead of red."

Reviewed Crockpot Pot Roast Using Fond

Oct 4, 2012 in on

This is so easy. It's how I've made my roasts for years. It's flavorful and helps even the tougher cuts. Works well with pork also. You may want to omit the beef broth and use water or water & wine."

Reviewed Easy Baked Meatballs

Sep 24, 2012 in on

Maybe it was the sausage I used, but I found it salty. I didn't have time for meatballs, so I made it into a loaf and it was dry. It was easy, but I wouldn't make it again."

Reviewed Banana Pudding Cake

Sep 22, 2012 in on

The best part about this cake is that it is so easy and good. I had to use what I had on hand. Used a whole banana, vanilla pudding and because I have pullet eggs, used an extra one. Powdered sugar glaze with imitation coconut flavoring."

Reviewed Easy Baked Ziti

Jul 29, 2012 in on

Good and easy. Who doesn't like lots of gooey cheese? Pick your favorite spaghetti sauce and it's perfect and quick."

Reviewed Easy-Breezy Brownies

A cake-like brownie. Easy to make. Good flavor. Moist. Did not frost."

Reviewed Rhubarb Pudding

Apr 30, 2012 in on

Will not make again. It didn't have as much flavor as some of my other rhubarb recipes. Maybe some cinnamon may have helped."

Reviewed Gooey Caramel Turtle Bars

Apr 17, 2012 in on

They were good. Very, Very rich. I used a glass pan(no foil) and didn't bake it as long. The crust was a bit crumbly. Careful. The caramel scorches very easily. When the caramel was still hot, I added the pecans and chocolate chips on top, put a cookie sheet on top to hold in the heat. Then when the chocolate chips had melted I took a knife...

Reviewed Cream Cheese Butter Pecan Cookies

Not sure what it was, but my family didn't like at all."

Reviewed The Lasagna That Will Win Them Over

Feb 25, 2012 in on

It was good and made a lot."

Reviewed Crockpot Pork Chops

Feb 13, 2012 in on

Didn't like flavor at all. Pork chops were tender. I browned them first before putting in the crock pot."

Reviewed Layered Pistachio Dessert (Uses Jell-O Pudding Mix)

Feb 5, 2012 in on

I've made something very similar to this for years. It always goes over very well. I use pecans on the crust instead of walnuts; cream, whipped instead of the Cool Whip; and not as much confectioners sugar. For extra color at Christmas I will top with a dollop of whipped cream and a red cherry. It looks very festive."

Reviewed Slow-Cooker Stout & Chicken Stew

Jan 12, 2012 in on

Not the best. I modified and used breast meat to lessen the fat. Also used a lite beer."

Reviewed Carol's Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chippies

Jan 11, 2012 in on

This is my husband's favorite cookie. It is, however, the same as Recipe #10125."

Reviewed Chocolate Dessert

Dec 19, 2011 in on

This is a very good desert. I've made it for years and it is always a hit. I like to double the chocolate layer and the cream cheese layer. You can also change the flavor of pudding you use. Pistachio is great for Christmas with a red maraschino cherry for color. I prefer to use real cream instead of the whipped topping."

Reviewed Easy, Yummy, Creamy, Chicken Tetrazzini

Dec 7, 2011 in on

Our family has made this recipe for years. It is excellent. The only difference is that I usually add chopped onions and instead of the American Cheese, we add 4-8 oz of cream cheese. I will often substitute leftover turkey or baked chicken leftovers. It doesn't need to be breast meat. Very yummy and easy."

Reviewed Belizean Baked Rice Pudding

Nov 26, 2011 in on

It took about 60 minutes in the oven @ 350. My can of sweetened condensed milk was 14 oz so instead of adding the half cup of milk and half of the can, I just used the entire can and no sugar. It was plenty sweet."
