My Activity

Reviewed Persimmon Muffins

"I used white whole wheat flour and did half butter and half canola. These were so good! Came out perfect. I will definitely add this to my recipe book. "

Reviewed Real Spanish Gazpacho from Spain

"I was looking for an authentic Spanish recipe for a Spanish tapas party for some friends from Spain. This was just like the gazpacho we had in Spain. I recommend using Spanish olive oil."

Reviewed Zucchini-Corn Fritters

"So good. The only thing I added was fresh basil to the mix. They were great! I might add jalepenos to them next time and then top with avocado and sour cream. ""

Reviewed Almost-Famous Spinach-Artichoke Dip

"This was excellent. I served it at a dinner party with tortilla chips and it was gobbled up. Don't forget to make the water for the spinach nice and salty. It brings out the flavor when you add it to the dip.

Reviewed Vegetable Tarte Tatin

"This came out beautifully! The combination of sweet and savory with the flaky crust was great. I served it at a dinner party cut into small pieces as an appetizer and it was great. For the caramel, I would recommend cooking on med-high heat. Also don't stir the sugar, just swirl in the bottom of the pan. I lightly sprayed my 9x13" pan with canola oil and then worked fast to drizzle the caramel all over the bottom of the pan. It cooled fast so I ended up spreading it over the bottom of the pan with my fingers. I used the fresh herbs and followed the recipe. It was wonderful as-is.

Reviewed Caramel Apple Cake

"The cake looked beautiful. Just like the picture. I wasn't overly impressed on the taste. It was a little dry and too sweet. I poured the extra caramel over the top and waited about 30min to serve. That was a mistake because the caramel hardened and then it was a disaster cutting it. If you pour on the extra caramel, do it right before serving. Also, I used a 9"x4" pan and that worked well. The cake rose pretty high.
