My only complaint is that this recipe is too much for just the two of us. Regulating the oil is hard and time consuming, but important. I rely less on timing and more on the colour of the batter. When it's golden brown, it's done. Let the excess batter drip off if you are concerned about it being too thick and doughy. (Too much batter overwhelms ...

I'm so thankful we live in a state that allows for year-round grilling! This is fast, easy, and very adaptable to small changes! :) My biggest problem is grilling the onion, but I now use a basket and no longer lose the little guys that leap through the grate on the grill! :) ""

I was hoping to find a good vanilla recipe that could be whipped up in an afternoon, but the wait was worth it. I didn't have peach preserves, so used apricot instead. Didn't seem to make a big difference. Next time I will get the peach preserves to see what the original tastes like, but don't imagine the taste difference will be that great. Oh, I"

I was really intimdated by this recipe. I'm not sure *why* exactly, but it looked long and complicated. I was SO wrong! This cake was incredibly easy! I was pretty nervous because after baking, it hadn't risen very much, but I was incredibly pleased after poking lots of holes and letting it set in the fridge overnight. I took this to a dinner part"
