Reviewed Best Ever Fudge

Mar 13, 2014 in on Food.com

I was intrigued with the idea of not cooking the butter with the milk and sugar as I';ve never made fudge that way before so I tried a half-recipe... yuck. Not only did the butter try to separate out of the fudge when I poured it into the pan to cool, but the milk/sugar mixture curdled a bit. Yuck. Then I made another half-recipe that put the...

Jan 29, 2014 in on Food.com

This recipe has made the best bread ever that has come out of my bread machine. Very light and fluffy and smells amazing! I didn';t have any eggs on hand, so I substituted with a flax egg (1T flax meal 3T water). I also didn';t have any pineapple juice, but took the suggestions from other reviewers of using orange juice. The only orange...

Very easy and delicious cake to make with common ingredients. I';ve made a few times, and it always pleases. Substitutions/variations I';ve tried: toasted walnut oil in place of some of the butter, adding walnuts to the topping, using Mixed Sweet Spice in place of the cinnamon and nutmeg."

I made this with wild rice, included the tuna water in the recipe, used colby-jack cheese (also topped with cheese), added a generous amount of fresh parsley and onion, cooked for 25 minutes. We had impromptu company just after making this, and enough to share. Excellent reviews all around. The butter sauce is exactly what I was looking for to...

Jul 31, 2013 in on Food.com

My modifications included not having enough shredded cheddar (under a cup';s worth), and backfilling with a cheese sauce. I also threw in a handful of corn and a few chopped celery stalks. The brand of sausage I bought was not very spicy, so I added some red pepper flakes. It turned out to be a very good starting point for a winter soup! ...

I found this recipe looking for a way to use up garden-fresh zucchini. I halved the recipe, threw in some leftover onions and banana peppers with the zucchini, and eyeballed the rest. Great, spicy dish and I like the combination of salsa and feta. Thanks for sharing!"

Really good! I adjusted my temp to 350 and time to 25 minutes, based on someone else';s review. I substituted a powdered-lemon product called True Lemon because I had no lemon zest on hand. They are not overly sweet, and they make a great breakfast food."

I accidentally made this without cooking the vegetables, and it still turned out great. I had no mushrooms so I added more bell pepper and broccoli. Also added chicken, and used udon noodles. Very tasty sauce! Next time I';d top with fresh cilantro and maybe chopped peanuts."

Loved this. Used plain homemade croutons (and some crushed crackers) but added Penzey's Mural of Flavor to the egg mixture.
