Reviewed Simple Baklava
"These were amazing! My family loved it. The only tedious work is the phyllo dough. Some broke apart on me while separating them but I kept layering on the torn ones & it didn't really matter once they're all buttered. The filling was easy to make. It's just better than the regular gooey chewy baklava you see at stores or restaurants. The filling is not too sweet & even after a week, the phyllo is still crunchy--just perfect.
Reviewed Shortbread Cookies
"These were soooo delicious! My kids loved them.
Reviewed Blueberry Coffee Cake Muffins
"Excellent!! I used the mini muffins (baked for 22 mins) & my kids couldn't stop eating them. Light, moist (without overmixing) and really easy to make. If you like it less sweeter, lessen the sugar measurement. I used 1 1/4 c sugar. It was really wonderful with coffee on a cold afternoon.
Reviewed Mini Espresso Cakes with Peanut Butter Frosting
"These were fantastic!! I know I shdn't make guinea pigs out of my family but I was trying to give something different for the holidays so I watched Sunny's episode. It looked yummy and easy. So I tried it one time and gave it as presents and I had great reviews. I didn't put the pb frosting because it was too sweet for my liking. Anyway, they loved the cakes the way it is. Thanks Sunny!
Reviewed Plain Pound Cake
"This is the second time I tried making pound cake. Made it yesterday. I just halved the recipe because I wasn't sure how it would come out. Since I only have large eggs, I used 4 of them. I started checking once I smelled the aroma of it. Total bake time was 53 mins. Ina's recipe is great! I ate it while it was warm, accompanied with warm green tea---really good!!
About Me
When it comes to food, I like trying new things. Same with cooking...I used to not like baking, but I tried again and voila! It isn't really that hard once you get the hang of it. I've been using Ina's and Giada's and some of Paula's recipes especially during the holidays. Anything simple, quick, and budget-friendly, I'll try. My family and friends seem to love what I make.
